RE: Senate Passes 10-Week Continuing Resolution

Today, the Senate passed a 10-week continuing resolution (CR) (HR 5325) to fund the government through December 9th. The legislation now moves to the House, which could take up the legislation this evening or sometime before Friday. The new fiscal year begins on Saturday, October 1st.

You will recall that our previous memo mentioned disagreement between parties on whether funding for Flint, Michigan’s water problem should be part of the CR. An agreement was reached that funding for Flint will take place after the election, during the lame duck session in November and December.

I will update you on the CR when we have final passage in the House.
