Federal Employees: Telling Our Stories

NTEU Launches ‘Telling Our Stories’

This week NTEU is launching the latest installment in our long-running public service campaign that will explain to the American public how your work improves their daily lives.

We’re calling it “Telling Our Stories,” and it features short video interviews with NTEU members that show the direct intersection of your work and the food Americans eat, the products they buy, the hard-earned money they save and invest, tax assistance and much more. Here is an example:

This is a social-media driven campaign and we need your help to achieve the widest possible distribution. Every week a new video will be posted on NTEU’s Facebook and Twitter pages: @NTEUnews. The videos will be supplemented with posts on other days of member quotes, “Did You Know?” facts about your work and myth-busting videos.

Spread the word. Repost, retweet and share our videos on your social networks using the hashtag #TheyWorkforUS. Tell the story about what you do and help the American public put faces to federal employees and understand the vital roles you play that they are largely unaware of.

Want to add your story? If you want to be featured in a video, you can. Here’s how:

  • Videotape yourself telling your story on your phone
  • Keep it under 30 seconds
  • Make sure your phone is set to high resolution
  • Turn your phone sideways to film in landscape format
  • Email it to the Public Relations Department at nteu-pr@nteu.org
