NTEU addressed a concern with managers denying FMLA requests unless employees are willing to sign a waiver to disclose their medical records, which violates Article 33 and their privacy. The agency has acknowledged that this has been an issue in the past and that managers should not be putting pressure on employees to sign any medical waiver. The agency has agreed to look into this matter and ensure that managers are following guidelines that do not require execution of such waiver.
